From Mayor Dominic King:

"Our final Council meeting for 2017 is being held tonight in Bellingen (in Council Chambers) from 6pm, with Councillors and senior staff available from 5:30 to talk about your issues and ideas. Seaboard residents note we will bringing a night meeting to Urunga early in the new year.

A final hurdle was cleared when Bellingen Shire voted on November 6  to proceed with the Native Title Application, after expressing an interest in ensuring a suitable level of public access to existing facilities and infrastructure at Wenonah Headland was maintained to this area as part of any determination.

Bellingen Shire mayor Dominic King said “I am very pleased that this long standing application has now reached a point where everybody’s interests have been suitably addressed.  This is a very significant milestone for the Gumbaynggirr people and I am pleased to have been a part of the process.”

Evening meetings around Bellingen Shire

This evening is our next in the series, trialling Council meetings in evenings and at changing locations around the Shire.



We meet from 6pm in Bellingen in Chambers, with Councillors available beforehand from 5:30 to talk about ideas and issues. 



Everyone is welcome to observe the formal meeting proceedings (or part thereof) from the gallery and we encourage people to come and find out more about Council business.




Remember for future meetings that if you wish to speak to an agenda item, you need to notify Council 24 hours prior to the meeting.
